Bill Woodson (BMI)
Bill Woodson is a singer-songwriter from St. Paul, Minnesota. Having spent most of his life in California before relocating to Minnesota a few years back, Bill's music carries a sense of his experiences of living in the Golden State. As leader of the seminal blues rock band English Motorbike, who released a critically acclaimed CD "Lonely Road" in 2004, he was the main songwriter/singer/harmonica player and guitarist for the band. English Motorbike was constantly on the road playing clubs and festivals with bands a diverse as Men at Work, Johnny Winter, Eric Burdon, and alt country acts such as The Beat Farmers and The Blasters. Relocating to the diverse climes of Minnesota, Bill has reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter playing solo acoustic sets at venues around the Twin Cities. His music now has a more introspective and soulful bluesiness than the straight blues based rock he did with EMB as the influence of the wide open yet cosmopolitan environment of Minnesota has had it's affect on his songwriting. Bill also plays acoustic duos with The Fabulous Jimmy C, and with the southern blues rock band The Straight Shots.
